Why this credit company invests in dog petting

To encourage more people to talk about their financial concerns, the credit company Experian collaborated with Citizens Advice to launch the “pup-up” Credit Paws Café.

The 24 hour pop-up offered free one-to-ones with credit experts as well as support from Citizens Advice spokespeople – and all in the calming presence of puppies. As new research commissioned by Experian revealed one in six people keep their financial struggles to themselves, with one in five admitting they worry about being judged.

Studies have shown that interacting with animals can reduce stress and anxiety by lowering cortisol levels. Being surrounded by puppies might therefore be a great way to loosen people up and get them to talk and ask for help.
