Glassdoor, the online platform where people can find honest reviews about employers by (former) employees, is adding a new function to its website. Users can now filter employers by a large range of new value filters: “workplace factor ratings such as work/life balance, culture & values, diversity & inclusion and more, or by overall ratings from demographic groups including race/ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation and more.”
Statistics indicate that company values and societal impact matter a great deal to Generation Z, for example, a 2018 Deloitte survey found that 77% of Gen Z respondents said it was important to work for companies whose values aligned with theirs. And even though this is not the first initiative to make it easier for people to find employers that match their values (for example this cool job board solely centred around sustainable development goals), it is another step in the direction towards values as a significant factor in career decisions.
