An app called BeReal has over a million downloads in the play store and essentially counters the perfectionism of social media by letting its users share everyday pictures with each other. Every day at a random moment, the app tells you to snap a picture of what you’re doing in the next two minutes. This way you have no time to prepare and your pictures will be more spontaneous and therefore authentic.
