Something to look forward to

Why organizations should give people something to look forward to.

We have all experienced it in 2020. You were looking forward to something but then it got canceled because of corona rules. Research informs us that rejoicing is unique for people. Unlike animals, people can imagine things that are not yet there.  

As a result of all the cancellations last year, we have lost a great deal of dopamine. As it turns out, it is not just a pleasant event that makes us happy; the reward system is already activated when we are looking forward to something. Because we’re still under the spell of the virus, many joyful events are out of scope. This leads us to the question: What is the role of your organization in this momentum? Consider what value you can create for your customers and employees by offering them something to look forward to and that gives them a sense of perspective.
